Gilbern GT ?1800? identity issue
Discussion
Hi there.
I read on the gilbern.co club site that the C100 series GT's would / could have originally had the Ford engine installed.
I have one with the engine from an MGB (C100257) in Australia that that has nearly had its restoration completed (we aren't doing it quickly).
I was hoping to find out some of the history behind the move by Gilbern to use the Ford engine and if a C100 car would loose some of its "original" appeal if it has a 1800 motor?
Can one tell from chasis no if the car was factory built of kit ?
I await any info with interest.
Thanks,
Clive (Feb 2010)
