Hello,

Yup, confirming the job offer in the morning. Though it best to tell you guys first, she will understand when she wakes....;)

So, moving to North East direction, early January. Just myself for first couple of months, then she will follow.....

Bloody looking forward to it!!

Cheers,

Will be looking to meet up with a few once sorted!!

Cheers!!!

Vicenza, I am heading over 2nd Jan, starting on the 7th....cant wait, really, really can't...

Have spotted a Forester Turbo, which might be purchased!!

Insurance? As bad as made out? Is this why everyone drives 500's?

Internet? Any good? Am planning to keep my business here going which will require a fair bit of connectivity...roughly how much??

Selling my car over here, so am looking to buy a motor quick smart...something that is mountain friendly, that I can sleep in if need be!

Cheers!

Good for you, it is as great a place to live as it can be frustrating at times. Good car choice, I had an Imprezza Turbo the first coupled of years I was here. Insurance is pricey but I have used Italsure the last 5 or so - they seem ok. I've never had to claim mind you, so haven't really tested them. You'll have no worries with Internet, plenty of broadband packages to suit your needs - I think we pay around €25/month for up to 7mb/s unlimited.

I'm not sure about Vicenza but when I started looking for somewhere to rent it was not unusual to find an unfurnished place minus a kitchen! Something to be aware of.

Mountain roads are all excellent and they keep them in good condition...snow tyres and 4wd and you'll be set. I have a golf and a touran both on winter tyres and have never been stuck (only 2wd) and I head to the mountains a lot.

Petrol/ Diesel is pricey here - it's the only way to tax everyone hence the high price.

Haggle for everything and cash is still king! Good luck with the move.
