Hi, another what car thread..
I have previously owned;
MK5 Fiesta Zetec-S
MK1 Golf Cabriolet
MK2 Golf Gti 8v (fave car of the lot..)
Currently drive a Civic Coupe which was really just a car to tie me over until I could get something decent again. This will be sold.
I have approx £4000 for a "new" car.
Please bear in mind i'm only 20, with 1 years no claims. Insurance is a nightmare.
I want something fun, quick and involving. I was looking at 306 Gti's, MK2 golfs again, clio 172's possibly, ibiza cupra at a stretch? Any other ideas? Something a bit different to the norm would be nice. Running costs arent too much of an issue as the car won't be used all the time..
Before you mention MX5's, i'm sure they're awesome to drive but i'm really not that keen on them!
Mark said that Ben has a porsche 944 and isn't much older than me? is that a realistic idea?

MATT! Any thoughts on 172s ?
great car, cornering and acceleration are fantastic, servicing is a bit steep if you want dealer servicing, insurance will kill you though because of your age and NCBi've had fairly resonable quotes for a clio 172 actually! i think it's do-able. need to test drive one though as i've not had the pleasure yet

anything less than £2k is affordable for me.. quotes for 172's come in around 1400. probably more with mods but i'd contact someone whos a "specialist" like flux or HIC - get a better quote then. considering i pay £1600 on my civic it's not bad!!
