Yes this is still happening. every first Sunday of the month from April until September. Starting at 9.30 am until the last car leaves really. It is hoped that we can get as many car enthusiasts there as possible to make this a 'must-do' event once a month.
The Red Lion Pub is a warm friendly pub that does great food so you might want to stay and enjoy some fine pub grub.
Hope to see you there. I'll be there in my red Caterham Supersprint.
Cheers,
Phil

Someone has asked if I'm on commission and the answer is a definite NO. I have moved to this area and am trying to make the village a good venue for enthusiasts. I have no other connection with the pub.
The pub has now got new landlords and they have made the pub into a nice place to visit.
Just try it. You nevr know you might like it.

Thanks to all of you who turned up today to the inaugural Cars at The Green day today, you know who you are.
We had a pretty good turn out considering it was Mother's Day too with seventeen cars turning up. I counted eight Caterhams along with a Corvette and Exige, Elise, TVR, Nissan Skyline, BMW M series, Mitsubishi, Mustang and finally an old Rover P6 3500.
Bacon baguettes were enjoyed by most and there was a fair bit of admiring the machinery with the odd bonnet or two open for display and discussion.
I do hope you will all come back again. Spread the word.
Cheers,
Phil

That is a shame. Once the pub car park is full there is one side of the green opposite the pub that is always empty so there's plenty of room to park.
I hope you decide to make a visit next month. So do park up and come in and meet other like-minded enthusiasts.
Thanks to all of you who made the effort today. It was good to see you.
See you next month,

Hi John,
Yes it is on again this Sunday from 9.30 onwards. Please spread the word as the more the merrier.
The forecast is looking good for this weekend and for anyone who's not been before, the plan is to fill the pub car park up primarily, and once we reach capacity then cars can park alongside the green opposite the pub. There is room for plenty of cars and the countryside around Evenley have good 'driving' roads so come and see us - don't be shy, everyone will be made to feel welcome.
I look forward to seeing everybody on Sunday.

What a great event this is turning into. We had a brilliant turn out today with cars ranging from a 1915 Model T Ford through to a '59 prototype Corvette. Add to this a smattering of Caterhams, TVR's, a Ferrari,an E Type, an R32 and a couple of TR6's. One of the guys with a TR6 got talking to one visitor who used to have a TR6 and he said I used to have one of those and have got loads of bits lurking in my garage which he quickly went off and fetched back and gave them to Steve the owner. This is what these kind of events are about.
There was lots of car talk and bonnets raised to peer into.
Have a look at these pics taken today and see if you'd like to come to the next one.
Cheers,
Phil
ps. Added lots of pics but only the first one is showing. Don't know why the others aren't on here.
Thanks to all of you who turned out today. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did

Yoohoo...!! it's this coming Sunday for our monthly gathering. Who's up for coming to join this increasingly popular gathering?
Last month we had a real variety of cars turning up - it would be great to have another interesting mix of cars to drool over.
See you at The Red Lion?
9.30am onwards.
Cheers,
Phil

Phew! what a day..!! Thank you to those who turned out today.
A good mix of cars today - albeit not so many as previous meets but still a good showing. The day had an added bonus of all the old bikes turning up for the Bill Lacey Memorial run which happens every first Sunday in August.
Thanks for posting the pics up. It does help to show that we are a bunch of 'petrolheads'.
Hope to see many more next month for the official 'LAst meet' of the year. Although there is nothing to stop us meeting all year if we want to. We could always sit in the back room of the pub which has got lots of motoring stuff on the walls and talk cars and engines etc.
See you next month?
Cheers for now,
Phil

Well it was meant to be the last one for this year but if everyone is game then we could keep it going until the weather turns nasty.
On a different note, I was wondering whether there would be any interest in us having a 'Christmas lunch' in December????????????? Seeing as how we are such a friendly sociable bunch.
What does the collective think?
