Hi all, probably the wrong forum (mods move if there's a better one).

I'm looking for a decent ski jacket (Goretex) but almost all the Goretex ones I've seen are these thin 'shell' type ones. I really don't like the idea of these things, although a lot of advice is to 'layer' up underneath, I don't fancy it, I like a nice thick warm waterproof jacket.

Any recommendations for a Goretex insulated warm jacket?

Cheers.

Nice jacket!!! mmmmmmm, £700 is a couple of hundred over my top budget, but a lifetime guarantee might swing it! Going to see if I can get it cheaper somewhere first!

That's exactly why I didn't want to go down the 'shell' route. I much prefer a nice thick soft warm jacket rather than something that feels like a plastic bag! I've bought the Norrona Lofoten one in the end from Absolute Snow at £280. Goretex with Primaloft insulation.

I'll report back when it arrives.
