Find a river, trample along the riverbank over a fragile ecosystem without consideration for the natural environment, find a mink (or sometimes an otter), chase it with hounds, catch it and kill it.
Sounds like a great afternoon.
I take you are talking about the mink ??Sounds like a great afternoon.
Non native specie ravaging fragile Eco-system etc etc.
Have you seen a mink ? Have you seen an otter ?
Ignorance is bliss (I guess).
Mink are not native to this country but rather escapees from mink farms or have been 'freed' by animal rights people.
They decimate the rivers' eco-systems, taking eggs from native birds, fish from the rivers and preventing colonisation of our own wildlife.
Keeping the mink population down is good for the rivers of this country but then I guess not many on here would recognise this. I'm a keen fly fisherman and protecting the rivers of this country is something I am passionate about, be the threat mink, pollution or cray fish !!!

It might help your case if you were to explain the method hunting, or not Mink are not native to this country but rather escapees from mink farms or have been 'freed' by animal rights people.

I agree though they are a pest that needs controlling as they do a lot of damge to UK species - particularly ground nesting birds and water voles. They are cute looking things though which won't help your case.
I have no idea, hence the question has anyone been on one ?
I'm not sure if they are flushed out and shot or what.
I've seen plenty of traps whilst fishing but never an actual hunt, hence the question.
I should have predicted the response from the PH following on this, however I thought there was quite a following on here for hunting.??
