I can't help but think a lot of these claimed medical conditions are purely a ruse to be able to take certain substances.
I'm at the point where my assumption is that everyone is taking something or other with varying degrees of legality/impact on results.

Have any of you lot actually looked at what these TUEs were for, what performance advantage they might give etc?

One of these "leaks" is for Ritalin. Last time I checked, the adnd kid was likely to be a skinny dweeb type, not a muscle bound jock.

Of all the leaks I googled, only 1 looked potentially performance enhancing - as a potential side effect was more glucose in the blood (froome's I think). The same said drug was on the official "essential drugs for basic healthcare" list - so it's not quite cut and dried..

There's a huge difference between taking a prescription with permission, and cheating like the ruskies did. One has to presume that their athletes can use the TUE system just as much as any other nation. They didn't do that, they had a state sponsored systematic doping plan. The difference is equivalent to the separation between newly oushing the envelope, and flat removing fuel filters and ordering crashes. One is against the spirit of the competition to some, the other is blatent cheating to any observer.
Ritalin improves alertness, productivity and concentration. Yeah I can't think how those things might be good for elite athletes.
