So, I'm at the stage where i want to progress my game. having started golf a year ago I now play to about 28 fairly well but i'm worried i've got some bad habits.

I'm contemplating lessons but i'm worried that they'll get me to play well with my existing clubs, then when i change my clubs i'll be playing with the wrong swing style for my new clubs.

so then i thought about getting my clubs tailor fitted. the way i figure it, the fitting experts will sort me out the right clubs for my height/stance etc so then i'll have the right clubs for my body. But will they then be the right clubs for my swing once i've had it fettled by a pro?

damn i'm confused, any advice wouuld be much appreciated.

incidentally, i'm not really that bad, i have an alright long game, not a bad short game but my very short game (putting) leaves a bit to be desired. so i'll be working on that anyway.

so, lessons or clubs.... you decide!

Nah it's nothing to do with getting the latest clubs, more to do with the fact that i've heard getting clubs properly fitted to you can help you no end. I'm not looking for anything special, just the right length shaft etc.

also i notice i play much better when i borrow my dads clubs which i think are slightly longer and with a different lay. I think my swing is fairly consistant anyway (it's just my putting that really isn't!!)

the general consensus is lessons then, i'm happy with that. I shall book some.

thankyou all.
