Ok, ok, I know its pre-determined and labelled fake but it doesn't stop me enjoying it. Instead of thinking of it as a sport, think of it along the lines of Hollyoaks and Coronation Street but with more violence and better(!) acting. Its classed as 'Sports Entertainment' so I think its best here in the Sports forum.

I'm sure there are some Pro wrestling fans on Pistonheads so I thought I'd create a thread for those of us who enjoy it and wish to discuss it. Those who don't kindly leave us to it, we've heard all the abuse before!

Anyway, let me kick off. WWE seems a bit hit and miss at the moment, the celebrity guest hosts on Raw are bit of a gimmick and I'm not enjoying them. Smackdown is the better show imo and I'm loving Chris Jericho's work.

Over in TNA, there seems to be a bit scandal surrounding Kurt Angle, Jeff Jarrett and Karen Angle. Is it real or is it a work? Oh and TNA's Victory Road is on Bravo 2 tonight at 9pm.

Lets just hope there are other Wrestling fans out there or I might look a bit silly!

Was that the ZZ Top guest host one from this past Monday?

Totally agree. The Attitude era was the greatest, probably the strongest period for the WWE. Unfortunately The Rock looks unlikely to ever return, he is too successful in movies. Stone Cold makes the odd guess appearance and was inducted into the hall of fame at Wrestlemania 25. I went through a long period where I had no interest in it after The Rock, Stone Cold, Goldberg and Brock Lesnar all left but recently I'm slowly getting back into it. I've been watching more of TNA recently.

I have to agree. The main eventers on Raw seem to have rotated between HHH, Cena and Batista for the last few years. WWE are in desperate need for a break through star.

Shane McMahon handed in his resignation over the weekend. Not sure what's going on there. Does anyone know why?

Hulk Hogan is back!

He has offically signed yesterday for WWE's biggest rival TNA. Eric Bischoff has joined him too. His debut is this Friday on Virgin 1 at 9pm or Sat night on Bravo at 9pm if you want to watch it.

I have mixed feelings about it. TNA seemed to be heading in the right direction by starting to push the younger talent. Now I'm not sure with the signing of Hogan (56) and a very strong possibility of Ric Flair signing (106). Good business by them though I think. It'll make casual fans watch TNA over WWE.

There are also rumours that Goldberg, RVD, Mr Kennedy and Umaga are close to signing deals with TNA. We shall see.

The Beautiful People. Velvet Sky (on the right) is utter filth.

Mr Kennedy is in TNA, and goes by the name Mr Anderson, think i read on PH somewhere Umaga is dead, RVD is in TNA, and for those who remember from waaaay back in the day, so are Scott Hall and x-pac. Its still naff beyond belief, mrs slopes and her dad insist upon watching it, then slag it off whilst doing sorolleyes
Umaga has indeed sadly passed away, yet another Wrestler to die young.

I've decided comparing TNA to WWE is like comparing Wycombe Wonderers to Manchester United. WWE is a mega power that I can't see being caught. No matter what Hogan/Bischoff and TNA try.

Incidently, TNA Impact got its lowest ratings in America for about 4 years since they moved it live on Mondays nights to go head to head with Raw.

He seems like all he has done is brought a load of ex-WWE guys (Mr Anderson, RVD, Jeff Hardy, Orlando Jordan, Val Venis) or his friends (Bubba The Love Sponge, Nasty Boys and Jimmy Hart, even Brooke sodding Hogan was on it last week).

The roster has changed massively since before Christmas and a lot of the guys who have been there for years seem to have taken a back seat. He's also got rid of the 6 sided ring and replaced it with a standard 4 sided one.

He will do well if he stays out of the ring (which won't happen, last week both Flair and Hogan were involved in a tag team match) and wasn't in every other segment like he seems to be at the moment.

It's the worst it's been for a long time in my opinion. TNA is fairly strong at the moment although I haven't watched either for a few weeks.

Not really a sport any more no. Vince McMahon calls it sports entertainment. I think of it as a soap opera for men. It's still a guilty pleasure of mine although I'm not as big a fan as I used to be.

Anyone else think Andy Carroll looks a lot like Edge?
