ABS Light is on. . .98 GT3

My car is hibernating at the minute whilst i sort a few jobs out on it. I moved it yesterday for the first time in a month i guess and the ABS light is on, so, question is, is the diagnostic thingy likley to be able to point me at the problem more directly then saying check system. . . or do i start looking at each corner looking for wheel sensor issues and start from there ??
Any pointers Esprit folk ?

not heard of that, it used to go off after the typical start up routine, so not saying your wrong, but i dont think my car does that

My 98 Gt3 has been hibernating for about 6 months due to a house extension project, it gets started and warmed up every few weeks but not driven, the ABS light has just come on. It did the same thing a couple of years ago when it had been layed up for a while, it was just a sensor, Gerald at GST Newmarket sorted it. I'm hoping once I can it out for a proper drive it will sort itself out, if not it will be another quick trip to GST.

knowing my luck this will become expensive to fix. . . .so, i was thinking surely if i were to wire the ABS bulb into the ignition warning light then the at M.O.T. time all would look ok ?

Yes i realise the brakes are of importance. . .and it is my intention to fix it properly, all i was pointing out is a possible swerve for the MOT. . .thats all folks

The later (KH) braking system (fitted to your car) is usually fairly robust and any failures are typically down to a dodgy sensor. But on a 15+ year old car surely that's acceptable.

It was the Delco mess installed in the earlier generations that need throwing away, because even when working properly it's dim-witted with an iffy pedal feel, not to mention the failure of difficult to purchase components.

Get your car plugged in and diagnosed properly, don't muck about with bodging out warning lights.

Your right it is the Kelsey system. . .and like you i suspect a sensor aswell.
So i can be clear to all. .
The idea of rigging the light was simply to pass the m.o.t. as i thought i had inferred. Currently the car has no tax, no mot, so to get it to my chosen specialist i need it roadworthy. i would not bodge a repair on this or any other part of the car.

I do appreciate the guidance from all and will report back as to how i get on.

For all that replied, the front N/S wheel sensor needed changing. . .Light out. . job done.
