I've been trying to find out or compile a full list of previous FoS shootout winners, and can't track down much in the way of results. Wikipedia has a list of the 10 quickest times, that's about it.

So far, in descending order, I have.

2016 - Olly Clark
2015 - Olly Clark
2014 - Sebastien Loeb
2013 - Justin Law
2012 - Anthony Reid
2011 - Dan Collins (thanks to myvtecgoesbwaah)
2010 - Roger Wills
2009 - Justin Law
2008 - Justin Law
2007 -
2006 -
2005 -
2004 -
2003 - Graeme Wright
2002 -
2001 -
2000 -
1999 - Nick Heidfeld (still quickest outright)
1998 -
1997 -
1996 -
1995 -
1994 - Martin Brundle (thanks to Eric Mc)
1993 -

If anyone can help fill in the gaps, or point me towards better info, that would be appreciated!

Thanks for the update. Hadn't realised Justin Law had won it so many times! I'll let Olly know he's got more than just Loeb's time and then the outright record to aim for! lol

I've emailed the GRRC to see if there's any light they can shed on the missing drivers and times.

I can relate to that. I was there the weekend Heidfeld set his time - on the Saturday unfortunately, not the Sunday, but he was visibly quicker than anyone else....how the hell he kept it on the blackstuff still boggles me!

This year, the hero for me was the McLaren M8F - I think the track was only just wide enough for it in places!!

Looked like the Penske Indycar had some engine issues, so I wonder if it had been running clean if he'd have squeaked past Justin Law's time? Was certainly a competitive shootout this year. 6 wins now for Justin Law.

I'd been talking to Matt and Olly about it beforehand, we kind of reckon it's just because the organisers don't want the same car turning up year after year and winning it each time, they like to get variety if they can. If you look at the list, nobody has won it more than two years running in the same car - Heidfeld did it three times on the bounce, but in different cars. I spoke to Olly on Monday, and looking at this years times, he'd been pretty confident he'd have been in with a very good shout wink

They're hoping to get an invite for next year however, as they should have their new Gobstopper III built by then. That's going to be something really rather special smile

Nah, Matt and Olly have strong family ties with Prodrive who built that car, so I don't think there'd be any animosity between them. Mark Higgins was there last year in the IoM car and they all got on happily enough.

Thanks for the compliment, she does OK for a 20 year old! I can't remember what info I put up about it when I first signed up on here. Most of the work has been done in the last 10 years by RCM, hence my ties to them.

Goodwood isn't truly a hillclimb event as such, its about far more than that. I've been 6 or 7 times, and have still never made it to see everything on offer, from the style et luxe, the rally stage, top paddock, supercar paddock, trade show, etc etc. The timed hillclimb section is actually a pretty small segment in comparison.
