How do you stop sweat pouring into your eyes?

I went for a ride yesterday in the heat and my eyes were stinging from the sweat running down my face! I had to stop a few times to wipe my glasses down too.

What can you wear on your head, under your helmet to stop the sweat blinding you?

I've tried a headband but it was a fleecy one which melted my head.

Or should I grow an Alonso mono-brow?

I'll try the Vaseline tonight on the Chain Gang ride I've signed up for!

Although if a tub of lubricant goes in my cycling bag along with my chamois bum crème, my wife will start wondering what's going on. Needles to say that is combined with a lot of Lycra.
