2015 Cannondale Synapse UK release date?

I bought myself a Triban 3 in May as a toe in the water to see if I'd get into cycling. Two months and 2,000km later and I definitely have. The T3 will make a fine winter bike but I'm now looking for something more suitable for how I'm riding. Everything seems to point to the Synapse as being the best steed for me and with 2015 seeing them move to 11 speed and disc brakes (both seem to be becoming the new industry standard) it feels like a very good time to be buying.

What I haven't been able to find out is the UK release date for the 2015 model. Friends have told me that they were hard to get hold of this year as they were so popular. I popped down to Evans this morning and the best they could offer was to keep an eye on their website and put a deposit down when they appear. They did say that the US get them first, then Europe and then the UK, but that supply doesn't necessarily follow demand especially for the UK at the back of the queue.

Any advice from more experienced buyers on securing myself the bike?

I was joking about them being crap and trying to stymie demand to improve my odds. They're said to be better than the 2014 model. I'm completely sold and will have a right old sulk if I don't get one.

I did consider that. 11 speed will be a bonus for me. I currently spin out on descents but I also need a low gear for climbs after lots of recent knee surgery left me with twiglets for legs.

Disc brakes may hamper wheel upgrades now but I'm unlikely to go there for a year or two and it seems like the industry is shifting towards discs, so I'm hoping the wheel options will follow suit.

The Synapse is tailor made for you, surely? A bike designed for maximum comfort that somehow doesn't give much away in performance and weight.

Custom respray? Super clean paint job with matching bar tape etc. you could create something quite stunning without spending a fortune.

You already recognise that there's a price to be paid for exclusivity, one way or another. You either spend more money to get a more exclusive bike with comparable specs or spend the money on a respray of a common bike. You're still spending the same amount, broadly, but it requires a change in perception.

FWIW, my LBS (Druid Cycles at Tooley Street, London) do paint jobs from £200.
