Hi all

I'm signed up for an Everesting in a couple of months; we've picked a hill that is long and shallow-ish, so I'm not too daunted by all the climbing but it will be 20+ hours I think.

My current saddle is a Charge Spoon which is good, especially at the price, but I do get uncomfortable after about 4 hours of riding, so am looking for a good comfy perch for a long day's ride.

I have had a Specialized Body Fit, and that included trying a couple of Fizik saddles for a week. The Arione was murder for me, rock hard and after about an hour it had me feeling like I do after 4 hours on the Charge. I then tried an Alliante which was better but still not up to the Charge.

To complicate matters further, Would like to spend less than £100, it will be going on a Giant Propel which is new so don't want to be spending another huge amount of money. I will probably take both my old an new bike on the Everesting attempt to at least relieve the monotony if not my sit bones and quads.

Lovely looking thing Shuttle cock! Mine's this one -

Plenty of choice then! Would a Brooks saddle look ok on an aero bike? And how long do they take to break in? 1000km, less? And what happens if once you have broken it in, it doesn't feel comfortable?

Gruffy - I do that, usually happens more often the longer the ride goes on.

Twisting my Melon - will also be looking at shorts.
