Has anyone out there in PH land got any real world experience and recommendations for a mini pump that'll inflate 700c 25 tyres to a decent enough pressure?

I had been relying on CO2 canisters and a Bontrager air rush regulator but during a puncture stop on Sunday the CO2 regulator decided it was going to blast all the gas out of the new cylinder via the on/off valve and onto my hand and nearly give me frostbite. The bloody thing has only been used once before frown

So, looking for something small enough to frame mount on a bottle cage or small enough to go in a jersey pocket.

Cheers

Great stuff, two votes for Topeak so that's got to be where my search starts smile

Topeak Road morph is the one - mini pump but has a fold out foot thingy makes it as good as a track pump. Had problems with other pumps and CO 2 cannisters in the past, can be quite frightening when you're stuck by the side of the road and you just can't inflated.
Yeah, luckily there were a couple of other guys from the club with me who had mini pumps.......one of which had a press fit coupling which wouldn't seal correctly on the valve redface The looking at some of the pumps mentioned it was a Leyzene pump that got enough air in to keep me riding. It was probably approx 60/70psi and lasted me until I got to my local shop shop in town where I borrowed their track pump and dropped off the faulty regulator for warranty replacement.

Its quite a shock when the ice cold blast from the CO2 canister comes the wrong way at your exposed hand I can tell you.

That's a good call yellowjack, the bike it needs to fit on is a Trek Domane which also has a weirdly shaped oversized down tube.

Some great replies, I'm going to have to find a shop with some of these in stock now, seems to be a closely fought race between the topeak and the leyzne pumps.

I don't think I'll be going far wrong with either brand though smile

A wee bump,

My preferred LBS had a few Leyzne pumps in stock but we're waiting for a delivery of the topeak pumps ( only had big pumps) so I got a Leyzne road drive HP. its small enough to fit in the under seat pack I bought at the same time too and has so far been a lucky talisman smile

Did my first 100 mile+ ride yesterday which included several roads where my mtb would have been better suited and umpteen lanes which had had the hawthorn hedges recently cut back and nobody in the group had a flat !!

Thanks for all the comments and advice.

That's pretty much what happened, it leaked the co2 out of the inflators regulator knob all over my hand!

Pump and replacement co2 stuff safely tucked away in a seat pack now smile
