I'm thinking of having a go at either the short or standard Mega Meon in a couple of weeks.
I've done several charity rides of 30-50 miles, so I'm not really worried about the distance, especially as much of the route is around my stomping ground.
However, this would be my first proper/timed event.
My question is - Am I gonna look like a prize plonker participating on my trusty commuter hybrid amongst a sea of shiny road bikes?!

Thankfully the weather on Saturday was fantastic for the event, 24 hours either way and the ride would have been miserable - if it went ahead!
Whilst I'm under no illusion that I was particularly quick (I achieved the 'bronze' award) it was a great experience.
I thoroughly enjoyed the event and will definitely be doing it again next year - maybe I'll go for the standard distance or try the short route again but aim to achieve the 'silver' award.
