I'm sure a lot of you will have seen this today: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-340519...

Whilst the guy is quite clearly a grade A prat with some serious anger issues, something doesn't sit quite right.

I've watched the first 4 seconds of that video a few times and the guy is clearly edging into the road to cross over once she passes. In fact, he pauses just before she starts speaking to let her pass. Yes, he should be waiting until the crossing says he can go, but everyone crosses when traffic allows without pressing the button - and it allows traffic to keep moving too.

She then says "please don't try and knock me off" (in a mockingly dry tone) to him after he'd paused and she passes. He doesn't look at that point like he's going to do anything of the sort. His comment of "shut up [you mug]" as she rides off can just be heard. At which point we assume she flags him off. And then he goes crazy.

The guy is most in the wrong, of that there is no doubt. But the media coverage of this today seems to be totally ignoring the cyclist's clear success in aggravating the situation. She had no need to speak to him in the first place when he was waiting for her to pass and then she is presumed to swear at him whilst riding off.

Or am I looking at this incorrectly?

There's another thread on this here. I agree with you though, a loud "Morning" or "Woah" to alert him to her presence if she genuinely thought he hadn't seen her would have sufficed, followed by riding through the nice wide gap and disappearing off to her destination, end of.
D'oh. I did search, but couldn't see one.
