Had an eventful off-road/gravel hack ride on Friday when my mates rear dérailleur hanger snapped in the New Forest. It was pouring with rain and we were at least 20 miles from home/vehicles....
Luckily we had a chain tool and managed to remove the dérailleur and turn his GT Grade into a single speed so that it was ride-able, but it got me thinking about how much a pain in the ass a catastrophic mechanical could be, especially if it happened a long way from home....
My mate sent me this link - Lexham Cycle Recovery it cost £15.00 a year for up to 3 call-outs. Has anyone used them (or another scheme)?
