Hi all, inspired by the Kuwahara ET rebuild on here a while ago I have just bought a Mk1 Raleigh Burner F&F which in time will be a full restoration and rebuild.

Gulp.

Extra Burner... Hmmm. I'm literally starting with a red frame and black forks, that's all I've got.

Always liked Extra Burners because deep down I always wanted an ET, should I go that route???

Regards the TA a mate has a mint, original white TA in his folks' garage where it's been since about 1986.

Oh and I deeply regret selling my GT for £30 all those years ago now as well.

It was you was it?

Grr.

I'll post some pictures up soon, I was planning on doing it during the Christmas break but the reality of finding the required bits has hit home in a big way... It's going to take forever.

Update

This is taking a lot longer than anticipated, I'm slowly but surely getting original parts together.
On Saturday I decided to build up what I've got so far, all in unrestored state as you can see from the pics.

I need to find some black rat trap pedals, tyres and a chain.

I've not got the right Viscount grips but doubt I'll ever find them, likewise snake belly tyres seem impossible but I think I'm going to pick up some Comp 3s this week (2.125 + 1.75 for those who know their Burners).

I'm almost certainly going to go the Extra Burner route with regards to colour.

More to come....

A few before and after pics of the wheels.

A bit of pitting present but I call that "character" smile

I've got everything I need for the Burner now - including a nice shiny set of flanged wheel nuts.
