Boot Mount cycle carrier, any recomendations?

I am getting fed up of putting my bike in and out of the boot of my car as although it fits ok, it ends up with a certain amount of mud and dirt getting dragged in. So can any one recomend a good boot mounted bike rack, I've looked on-line at the Saris Solo but it seems to have mixed reviews, the carrier only needs to hold one bike.

So any recomendations or ones to avoid, the car in question is a PT Cruiser, tow bar fitment is out as thanks to me choosing something rare (/unpopular).

Cheers was looking for the best inexpensive solution, I'd seen mixed reviews of the Saris Solo, currently the rack would be used for a 10mile or so journey up to the Chase and back, I don't have the spare cash to spend £100s especially as the bike will "fit" in the boot
