Forgive the laziness but I'm sure many on here will know chapter and verse. Are they allowed in Pro ET and/or Super Pro?

Interesting! Some of the R/Ts this year are almost beyond human capability and consistently so, it makes you wonder. It must be difficult to police given they are so small and can easily be hidden away, even unplugged and removed in seconds.

Am I hearing here that the time gap between the top yellow and the 2nd yellow varies on a random basis?

The blinder and random "run the tree" delays make no difference to people using the top yellow as the trigger for their RT but if the time lapse from the top yellow and the green is variable then the game really is up. Is that the case though?

So why can't you set the delay box to start on second Amber then
It's physiology. Humans can react to a single stimulus much more consistently (in terms of time) than we can when 'choosing' a moment. With practice, you can train yourself to react to a single bulb coming on to be consistent within tiny margins of error (mathematically, "high Q" on a bell graph). When you start choosing your moment within a sequence, like with a sportsman tree, you can't do it so well. Hence the top yellow reaction coupled to an adjustable delay to the transbrake usually is better than picking your moment. It's Standard practice over the pond but it falls down if the top yellow stays on for varying periods.

Some people even put bits of tape on the windscreen to block out the middle yellow in order to "react" on the bottom yellow and then adjust the car's RT (or staging depth - not so good) to suit. It's much easier if you use a delay box for the adjustment but that's naughty.
