The big talking point seems to be that Hockenheim has moved to later in the year, so it's now only a week before Tierp II. There are pros and cons to this, of course. It can be tricky for crew to get holiday, and it can screw with travel plans. But it also gives them time to prep the track better after the F1 race, and from a personal perspective, it means that it no longer clashes with a number of other things that I was already committed to. If I can get the budget together, it now means I can race at Hockenheim.

weather @ Pod usually being better one week after the "traditional" finals date ?
That sounds extremely unlikely to me, and I suspect pushing the finals back a week is more likely to result in a weather affected meeting.

The Euro Finals is generally the weekend after the US Nationals.
Has that been a deliberate policy or is it just coincidence? It had never occurred to me that the timing might be linked to events on the other side of the pond.

Just like Mantorp and Gardermoen used to be back in the day - albeit with a slightly longer drive between the two ;-)
