Does anyone know roughly from watching the forums, what the rough count of engines on 08-09 that have blown, obviously that you know about from forums.
I was pretty shocked to read this, and with the fact I've just bought an 09. This is what bloody scared me off a porsche boxster, but never expected it with a honda, hence I never looked into this before purchase.
What mileage on average, is this happening, and is there a time scale.

Cheers Guys for the Info.
Sounds a bit like the Porkers with the 987 engines going pop, but only a small amount, dependent on What forum you read.
It would be good to know how many have failed in the UK alone. Being honest, It does concern me slightly, as I plan some very long drives over the coming couple of years, potentially across Europe. It don't instill you with much confidence knowing there could be a weak point in your Engine? I know you can say this about a lot of motors, but Not once did I worry about engine failure in my Supercharged Elise.
I do have warranty on It, but basically that is not the Point. Last thing you want is being off the road for extended periods, or blowing an engine Mid Europe!!
I can see a potential for sale sign on my 09 8k S2k.lol

I bought a 2009 S2000 without researching it too............

My thought process was low miles, low owners, unthrashed car and Honda VTEC bullet proof build quality. Never once did I consider an engine problem......that's why I bought a Honda!!!! I research EVERYTHING before I buy as well. Just didn't think for a second any Honda would have issues............
Exactly like you. Thought the exact same things, and being honest, It is not published as much, when comparing with Porkers.
I really do now think It is only small numbers, and It will come down to Personal choice on whether someone thinks It is worth the gamble, as the Odds are small of anything going belly up.
