FN2 Type R ride

Having fancied one of these as a daily, I test drove one at the weekend. Terrific engine, gear change and handling BUT my God what a terrible ride. Even on the 18s it's one of the crashiest, most uncomfortable cars I've ever driven.
Question: Is there an established suspension mod (some springs for example) which is known to improve this. I'd love to find a solution. Thanks.

Don't think I'd ever get used to what I experienced on Saturday. Perhaps that car had knackered components or overfilled tyres but it was agony! The banging and crashing sounds also. I reckon you could become sterile riding around in that with your plums bashing against the furniture.
Consensus seems to be 15mm Eibachs as a cheaper solution or full coilovers (KWs) to do it properly. Not sure I want to take the gamble - what if I still don't like it? Wish I could find a car for sale which has already had it done...
