Afternoon! My younger brother has threw a conrod in his type r and put a nice hole in block. Thought these engines were bullet proof. So can anyone suggest a decent place for a re-con engine?? I'm going to be tasked to fit it so any help would be great.

He's told me he dropped it from 5th to 4th. I rekon he has buzzed it.

I did wonder but he's adamant that he went 5th to 4th. I've blown engines up in past during my racing days, cooked rings and spinning bottom ends but I've never put a hole in the block, at least he's done it properly I suppose.

So can anyone recommend companies that deal in trusting 2nd hand motors or re-conditioned??

After digging a bit further it doesn't look like its thrown a rod. After looking at the bits in the engine it looks like a piston has let go in quite a big way. Whoops.

Up date. It's looking like conrod. The bits that come out of the engine were more piston bits.
