Bit of a random thread here, looking to get an S2000 soon, (Keeps getting put off with House renovation having to take priority.)

Always come into the Honda section to see whether there is any S2000 action, but its gone quiet recently.

Any Chaps on here with S2000s want to get some pictures up to keep me entertained on my dinner times.

Cheers.

I do agree, since it's been upgraded it's damn slow, especially on the iPhone. Plus there a huge amount if sections, never know where to start!

It's a good fun car. It's not as quick a thought it would be, my fd2 can keep up with it. But it's a real joy to drive when the road is twisting etc.

I was commuting from Lancaster to Blackpool for a few months around Christmas time and was bombing up and down the m6 with roof down in all weather except heavy rain.

It's easy to tweak the tail out should you want to but otherwise it's very stable and is more comfortable than my fd2.

We bought one to see if we'd like it and we're already looking to upgrade to a better colour/spec. Ours is all black and it's a bit somber.

That's about it really...definitely glad we got one, would have another.
Cheers for the info, im also quite keen on the red/black interior. Gives an already dull interior a little bit of life, however RNBP only comes with black interior as standard, so im torn between moonrock with black and red interior, or RNBP and black interior.

If you are looking to sell in a couple months time send me a PM, however im not overly keen on the rear wing.

Cheers.

Liking the red one aswell, ive said that if i end up buying a pre-facelift model it has to be red with black wheels. So pretty much like yours minus bonnet. What lips that on the front bumper?

Thanks for the advice ref the roof, good idea, i like being pro-active to save cash!

Ref the seized bolts, can you tell visually whether the problem exists? Or would you only find out when you take the car to have its GEO set up.

Very nice, I'd like a White one. However I'm not 100% keen on the new style wheels.

How you finding it over the type r (assuming it was a ctr?)

(I think this is the point that someone will discuss heatsoak wink )
wavey

You called? wink

Heatsoak is an issue - could easily lose 10bhp doing that. Bigger issue for me is accelerated deterioration of the air filter, as it'll get more crap in it.

So the solution is you get a spare airbox lid, cut the front half off it, and replace with wire mesh - a discussion I had with Mikey and a couple of others on S2k suggested this would be a 'usable' alternative...
By the time you've got the dremmel out you might aswell go get one off the shelf.

I think the only Mod i'll do to mine to start with is K&N Fipk, Ive been told it sounds pretty similar to the likes of AEM CAI etc, but its easier to install and doesnt run the risk of hydrolock (Another can of worms). Plus a friend with a EP3 CTR has the K&N and it sounds pretty fruity without being boomy and droney. The last thing I want is a boy racer drone, so i may steer clear of exhausts.

I got a Laguna Blue Pearl 2006 S2000 in mid November. Got it all sorted out, had a fun track day, installed some new stereo equipment, and a few other parts, now I'm ready to roll!

Go find the FAQ threads on s2ki. Everything you ever need to know.

I also did a thread recently on there. 6months in - costs so far (it was called something along those lines)

Useful

This is the car that has caught my eye http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3661105.htm
After the very same colour S2000 myself, not many about in Monte Carlo Blue though.
Mmmm don't agree. Might not be many for sale right at this moment but mcb is a very popular colour. I have 5 s2000's within 20miles, 3 of them are mcb for a start.

..not usually a fan of burgundy cars but i do like honda's colour

any idea's what a burgundy one is worth? selling mine as im waiting for a new car to arrive, but someone has just (privately) enquired about taking it off my hands.
2006, 32k miles on the clock, last serviced about 4 months and 20 miles ago! biggrin
new roof <1 yr ago, and new sticky dunlops all round, no dings etc, and in great condition (always garaged).
there's quite a range on autotrader, with similar age/mile cars ranging from 9500 upto almost 12000, which is quite a range..
not sure if i should be looking at the top end as obviously its private (not dealership).. but then the flip side is its quite a rare colour (as far as i know.. never seen another, even for sale), ontop of the recent bits (roof wasnt exactly cheap from honda)

ive not bothered trying to sell it properly yet - mainly as i was looking forward to the sun arriving and enjoying it before it gets replaced. however a nice quick sale is always welcome, i just dont want to sell it off too cheap.. new car doesnt arrive for 4 months so i have plenty time to enjoy the car and sell, but a hassle-free quick sale cant be sniffed at, I just dont want to accept sometihing then find when the sun arrives and its colour shines through find i could have got alot more money for just waiting! smile
It's a nice motor but I don't think burgundy is going to have much it's premium. White cars have a fairly large premium but that's "in" this week.

I'd personally chuck it up in the classifieds for top money and see how it goes for a couple weeks.

Mikey - lovely. I'm hoping for a v8v next time round!!

£2k at Admiral, £1800 through Adrian Flux. Will have to have a look at Elephant.

I wish I could make my mind up redface
Elephant will be about the same as admiral, they are owned by the same group.

Not cheap is it. This is where I'm glad I live In the country! 24yr old paying £700! I don't think I could pay £2k for insurance.
