Seems that we have failed to have an AGM for 2 consecutive years now. Hopefully we can change that this year.

Is there any interest in a return to form this year. Hopefully if we start planning now we can get something in the diary before everyone gets booked up.

We could do the usual loop or another route if anyone has any ideas. Alternatively, if anyone wanted to make a weekend of it we could do a modified version of this http://www.exclusive-rentals.ch/en/alpine-tours/ba... though obviously not staying at Badrutts (possibly at the top of Stelvio so we can get an early clear run or two).

I will most likely not be able to make it again this year as I am fully planned until August frown Shame, as I always enjoyed a little run through the alps
You plan your diary even more in advance than the Swiss!

Weekend of 18th June? Or the following one to miss Le Mans? The passes should definitely be open by then.

You're all assholes - I move closer to the passes and you want to go North smile

Black Forest is fine for me. Only concern is the OH will find out and want to spend the weekend at Traube Tonbach.

I presume the punishment for transgressions is a little more lenient in the Nordkanton?

Ok, hint taken.

I've not driven in the Black Forest before, but probably happy to give it a go. I'm going to give it a trial run on Monday if the weather holds.

So...
Date: 25th June
Location: TBD but likely Black Forest

Ive got the outline of a plan on my head, but I've got one eye on the weather at the moment. I've already cancelled a trip to Stelvio this weekend because the weather is looking awful.

Basic idea is to meet in Koblenz early morning and do a big loop from there. I've never driven in the BF though, so if anyone with more experience has a better start point or has a specific route in mind, I'm all ears.

AFAIK
Route has been reviewed - but not yet confirmed
Weather was looking good - then OK - then acceptable - and now concerning. Accu says 69% chance of rain - with it saying "Shower and Thunderstorm around"

Thoughts?
Given you spoke to me 5 minutes ago about this, I would say yes that's a good summary!

Thank you to JMGS4 for the route, looks good. DK proposed some small alterations. Accuweather has a more optimistic view of the weather than Google. I propose to wait until tomorrow lunch and make a final decision, given how changeable the weather is at the moment.

My preference is for as early a start as possible, to have the roads as quiet as we can, but again weather dependent.

The weather looks like rain all day long on Saturday.

Personally, I would prefer the Exige not to come out in the rain. I propose to postpone until the weather gets better. Only problem is I'm booked up until September.

I've also looked at weather down in the Gotthard/Grimsel triangle and it doesn't look much better.

JMSG has very kindly produced a route, which DodgyKen has tweaked a little. Big thanks to both! If you want it, let me know either on here or by PM and I'll send it on.

If only we were going today!

Good job I'm not coming. I was planning on being the right side of the German border by 7am to avoid the donors!

Glad it worked out for you. Weather has been pretty shocking around Zurich today.

Definitely interested in a drive later in the year.
