Hi guys, I have been doing track days at least once a month for the last 6 years and have always used circuit days for this. Recently I booked a day at Bedford autodrome with javelin as circuit days were fully booked for all there events, we arrived at Bedford circuit as we have done many times before and took part in the briefing before we went and passed the static noise test, we then ventured out onto track and proceeded to be black flagged within 6 laps due to breaking the mobile noise test by 1 decibel, when I asked if there was anything we could do as we had spent over three hundred pound for this day I was told by the older javelin representative to pop to halfords and buy a new exhaust,
No other possible solutions were discussed as he said that it was track rules and tough luck. In all my years of track time I have never been black flagged and certainly never been treated with the contempt that this javelin rep had extended to me. I think personally that we were the only proper track car there, we were driving quicker than the rest of the cars that morning and generally our faces didn't fit!
I would urge all proper drivers to swerve these javelin track days as they are unhelpful and very clicky !!!

I must have been to Bedford at least 25 times in the last few years my car has tipped the mobile test before and the organisers have always just said drop the revs off in certain areas but javelin did not extend me this courtesy

I'm not being funny when I say this fellas but the way my situation was dealt with was ridiculous were were not talking about ten decibels here we were .1 over the limit on a track full of nose to tail traffic I don't see why it was us that we're completely to blame and after all we were 5 decibels of the static limit tested with a cold engine, I just think that our car/faces didn't fit in this case

My attitude did not stink and I don't think for one minute I will be missed by javelin, I'm just telling my story which is the whole idea of a forum. I have an e36 m3 evo with a full stainless steel exhaust running about 340hp group n ecu nothing too loud, runs a 94 db at 4500 revs

Qbee, finally someone who gets where I'm coming from, Bedford is great but I would opt for a silver stone day instead not a massive difference in price but guaranteed to have no sound issues and perfect for a powerful Tvr, do your cans reduce performance

Went to an MSV day at Bedford a couple of months ago. They were very clear that if you were to trip it by 1DB then they would black flag you with no arguing end of. They did add an adenum onto this that if you could get your exhaust sorted you could get renoise tested and be allowed back on...

Track days are under threat at alot of circuits. Having a firm stance on this stuff will keep them going in the future. If you dont like it, sell up and find another hobby!
Geeks, I don't have a problem with the sound limits on tracks but I do have a problem with the way this matter was dealt with and the fact that motion sound testing should be fair and accurate and in this case it wasn't, I have put this thread up because I want to make fellow drivers and track day fanatics such as myself aware of this sort of thing.
