I have no affiliation with bookatrack but I hired one of their R300s yesterday and wanted to comment on their service.

By the time I arrived (7:45), the car was set up in the pits, with 2 mechanics there all day. A friend and I used the car around 90% of the time available - ie there was very little time when one of us wasn't on track in the car.

The car was well-prepared; everything worked exactly as it should; the mechanics kept the car full of petrol all day; they checked over the car at lunchtime.

All-in-all, it's excellent service, and I would really recommend this to people.

It's not cheap (around £1000 for the car for day), but I find it cheaper than running my own track car!

I was there on Thursday too.
Was a bit surprised the bookatrak car I was following didn't have any brake lights, when it braked hard and early for a corner...

I thought that's what the light in the middle of the rear cage was supposed to be?
If so, it wasn't working.
Yep - no brake lights on the R300s - the light in the middle of the rear cage is a high intensity light for when it's raining! I hope it wasn't me braking hard and early (unlikely I think!)

Hate track days with cars/kit cars with no brake lights
Maybe you should consider, you know, figuring out your own braking points?

using the sighting laps to warm up the tyres and brakes
I'd have a word with the trackday organisers if I saw that kind of behaviour - there is absolutely no point in this and it sounds dangerous. Sighting laps are just that - and by the time you've finished the sighting lap, gone into the pits, waited for the track to open and got back out on tracks, the tyres and brakes will be cold again anyway.

Also, let's face it, who really needs to be operating at 100% of capacity from the first corner of the first lap of the trackday. Idiots only, I'd suggest.
