Bedford Autodrome Sat 1st Nov 2014 - Anyone there?
Discussion
Was a busy day with 95 cars booked on apparently. Although it didn't feel as busy as that on the day.
Did anyone else attend? Plenty of nice cars so had to be a few Pistonheaders..
Ended up being a great day weather wise and I don't remember there being 1 red flag.
Did anyone get any footage or proper photos?
I was in a Silver Renault Clio.

I was there in the grey 56 plate mini, standard except some A048s. I was there with the blue e46 m3 with black wheels and e black mk3 golf. I had a great day, first time at Bedford and only my third ever trackday. Managed to cover 200 miles on track without missing a beat.
Got some good footage but struggling to edit it down to a manageable size at the moment. Will post it up when I can

I was there in the white-with-black-stripes 7, with a friend in the orange 7 and friends in the clio which blew up mid morning (gearbox failure and power steering leak).
Enjoyed the day but annoyed I didn't check my pads before coming, they were very very low so overheated quite easily so I wasn't really able to commit to braking into faster corners which kind of put me off my rhythm a bit. Then the throttle cable snapped so slowing down became less of an issue...
I was passengering during the spin on the sighting lap :-) in fairness to the driver it was very slippery there.

I missed the spin on the sighting laps. But to be fair it was very very slippery first thing, especially on semi slicks.
I think most of the cars mentioned are in my footage somewhere. Certainly remember the GTR flying past me in one clip and the green/orange? Caterham.
Had a look over the CSL, very very nice car! There was a guy called Steve (my friends dads friend) who had the CSL interior in his silver M3.

Here's a vid of me following Steve in his M3.

Here's one of me following one of the Cayman S, which seemed to be on the track non stop going very well.

And another of just a general session with plenty of other cars.

Loved that, a classic FWD too I think ?
That's my CSL/GT-R vid, I have got some more but it's a bit dull, both driving and light levels.
Ah no, that was in the (RWD) orange 7. Didn't realise someone else managed a sighting spin? That's my CSL/GT-R vid, I have got some more but it's a bit dull, both driving and light levels.
I did see the AMG overtaking people though - he seemed to not be around in the afternoon, don't know if he got black flagged in the morning?
Hi guys
I was there sharing my E36 328i with my fiancée:
It was a really brilliant day, no red flags and cracking weather which I didn't expect at all! We got a little over 150 miles done. There were some drivers pulling sketchy mid-corner overtakes or diving up the inside, but generally standards seemed pretty good.
Except for the guy in the black MX-5 with the orange cage, who started his day off nicely by passing us very late on the back straight on the first lap of the first session and spearing off across the grass, gutted my GoPro wasn't switched on for that
I've got plenty of footage, just need to edit it down into something respectable. Some nice machinery out there, I was particularly impressed by the Cayman's pace and V800 was very quick in that Clio! I really enjoyed the circuit, you can get a nice flow going and it was big enough that - in my car, at least - you could go quite a while without hitting traffic. We only had to wait to go out once, too, every other time we just drove straight out onto the circuit, which was great!
I heard radio calls come through about the A45 AMG overtaking on the sighting lap, he was quick but seemed far too aggressive all morning, then I didn't see him later on so perhaps words were had.

Thanks :-)It's good to see my car from another angle.
I can remember that session too. Almost had a bit of a moment when the M3 going completely off line made me brake mid corner.
Do you have no more footage from after that video stops?
Just checked - yeah just a short clip of you passing me then I start a cool down lap. Just uploading another video (Mac seems to be taking forever) with a clip of a silver Clio getting it a little wrong and diving up the wrong side of the cones, don't know if that was you or one of the other Clios. This video's a little more sedate, learning the track in the damp in the morning, but managed to get one of the Caymans having a sideways play with the blue 911 at the end of the day. Will post a link when it's finished processing...

Would you mind uploading the little bit of me going past you? Not often you get to see external footage of your own car on track so would be good to see.
Not sure about the cones moment you mention. I cut the chicane a couple of times when I was on a cool down lap and there was a car on a hot lap coming up behind me fast. So could have been me, but if it was actually a moment then it would have been one of the other two silver Clios.
