What slick tyres?
Discussion
Had a set of ginetta slicks given to me a while back and used them once at llandow on my exocet was pretty worn but with them on they gave me a lot more grip than the rsr I now currently run.
Over the winter I will be adding a turbo among other parts btw too it and be aiming for the 220bhp figure and been looking at new options for tyres next year as I be going into sprinting. Anyone got any recommendations on what to get not much in the way of choice out theres a few option in the ftz Silverstone tyres and hankook f200 series.

My advice would be to check the regs and work out which classification you want to enter your car in.
You may find that slicks put you in one class whereas you might be more competitive with road tyres in another class.
Your choice really
Looking at the javelin series and with my car with the turbo I will be in the top classes anyway. I be doing a mix of them and ordinary track days with the intention of going into the welsh sports and saloon car series (my local track) 2017.You may find that slicks put you in one class whereas you might be more competitive with road tyres in another class.

I do use 2 sets of wheels so the plan is to have one set with slicks and one treaded for wet days etc.

If you're in South Wales then we (Bristol Motor Club) run sprints at Llandow and Castle Combe which aren't far for you to travel. There's also a Bristol Pegasus event at Castle Combe in October if that takes your fancy?I do use 2 sets of wheels so the plan is to have one set with slicks and one treaded for wet days etc.
For Sprinting then Avon A15 slicks would be probably be a wise choice
Might pop over for a look if im free though, yea llandow is about 40mins from me so my closest track.

Chris, you wont be allowed to use slicks in the TSS/javelin sprint and tbh, youll crash at the first corner anyway. stick to 888 type tyres
Its not for purely for the series just so I can run 2 sets of tyres with track days etc and learn the car before going into the welsh sports/saloon car series in the future.Gassing Station | Track Days | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
