Possibly be getting myself into a position for a local IT company based in Aston,Birmingham, which will mean that I don't have to do the 110mile commute to Derby daily.

Everything sounds good,it's less money, but I end up with more in my pocket each month as i'm not spending it on fuel, and open's up a few hour's extra a week to study further to get a better position etc etc

Now,the only drawback i'm seeing so far,is that it will be on a 3 month rolling contract, where as i'm permanent at the moment.

Just like everyone else,i've got bill's and a car to pay for,and don't want to end up jobless.

Wanting to know anything that I should be aware about,in these kind of situations? It's for a large IT firm, and I know of a few people who were employed by them, and managed to go up the career ladder quite quickly and had no issues with the 3 month contract part.

Anything to stop them from say "no renewal?" I'm currently a top performer on my team, could say the person who does "the most" as otherwise I get bored and end up looking for thing's to do. So my work performance wouldn't be bad.
