... and what do you do?

Whilst I'm happy in my present job (Compliance) here in London, my ultimate goal is to relocate to Manchester. After a few years of saving up I don't think I could bring myself to drop all my savings on a "just affordable" small two bed flat.

I had an interview in Spinningfields in January, and whilst I didn't get offered the job, the feedback was positive.

I've been in the Finance industry since 2007. I know Barclays and RBS have a presence in Manchester, and there are some smaller firms too, but would be good to hear from someone "on the ground".

Thanks!

Thanks!

Do you commute on the tram link? If so, how long does it take and is it rammed?

When I was last there in Jan I noticed the usual array of bars and restaurants in and on the outskirts of Spinningfields. Looks good!

haha, nice!

I want one of those two bed, £250K flats, that's what! I'm also scared of buying at the top of the market down here.

I'd probably live South. Bro used to live in Didsbury. What's Northenden like? Wonder when estate agents will start calling it South Didsbury?

no.
Understood! I won't look there any more. Thanks for the guidance everyone! As much as I'd like a flat in the city centre, I think I am past that stage now and would rather a small house. If or when it happens, I'll update!
