I had to make a tough decision this week to quit my role as EU Head of MBA, PhD and MSc/a Recruiting for a multinational retailer this week. My family are no settling in Luxembourg so, for their sake we're moving back to the UK and I'm actively searching at the moment. We're going to be based in London for the short-term and I am seeking roles in/near London or Yorkshire as we have a base and a family/friend network in both locations.

I'm putting the feelers out with my personal network, recruitment agencies and applying for interesting roles directly but thought I'd post here on the off-chance a PHer was looking or knew someone who was looking for my skill set smile

Experience
At a high level my background is 10 years in in-house recruiting, 5 of those years as a manager, this is my last 3 roles and education:

  • EU Head of MBA, PhD and MSc/A Recruiting: Multinational retailer
Built team from 1 to 7
Increased hires by 140% YoY
Designed and implemented specific end-to-end process for PhD and MBA/MSc/MA recruiting

  • Head of Recruiting, Acids and Technology: Multinational oil/energy company
Built team of 3
Recruited for perm, temp, graduate, MBA and apprentice
Developed branding & PR campaign
Designed and implemented recruiting process for perm, temp and apprentice recruiting

  • EU Program Manager: Multinational retailer
Developed Employee Referral program
Created military and graduate hiring program
Designed and implemented the EU recruiting process

Degree - Leeds Beckett University

Interests
This is what motivates me at work:
  • Building consistent, automated recruiting process to improve candidate and manager experience
  • Maximising the brand positives to tell a compelling story to the relevant candidate pools
  • Creating talent and fast track programs
  • Talking to candidates!
  • Fostering or building a collaborative team culture to tackle the ambiguous, changeable nature of recruiting
My Ideal Company
I'd ideally love to move into a medium sized company who have a small recruiting function or are seeking to build a team to specialise in recruiting. But, I'm not picky... as long as I get to improve process and metrics, build a compelling employer brand/story, foster a great team culture and get to be hands on when necessary I'll be happy!

Please PM if you'd like to know more or post any witty comments below

Thanks for the advice/guidance wsurfa, The jiffle king and 4x4Tyke; I'm going to explore those options.

Slow_poke as battered says the military is a great source for very flexible, composed and driven folks who come with a wide range of skills and experience which is extremely transferable to the company I was in. Some of the best hires I have made as a recruiter have come from the military smile

The search continues but I got a call today from the company that own Ginetta... that would be a cool company to work for smile

Thanks again for the advice folks, it's appreciated greatly smile

Potatoes - you're rather outing yourself with your OP. A Google of a key phrase got me straight to your LinkedIn profile.

Regarding leads, Page Executive have been very good for me a couple of times now, albeit in a different industry so I can't recommend a particular contact.
Yeah, I realise that, did think about creating a different profile to do this... but I don't have too much to hide and don't mind people knowing who I am.

Page Executive are good, I have contact with 2 recruiters at Page HR who I regularly work with and rate highly. I might look at Page Executive and see if there are any opportunities being managed by them.
