Long time reader, first time poster. I've recently opted to leave the military and go back to civilian life after marriage and job dissatisfaction etc.

6.5 years in
Corporal
Weapons tech
Mechanical engineering with some electrical.

I'm looking to get into the railways, rolling stock inspection / repair.

Is anyone in the trade that can offer advise, I've created a cv from viewing friends etc, attended a few job fairs and distributored said cv. However now I've decided which route I'd like to take need to tailor my cv to suit.

Also what course would benefit through previous experience

Can anyone help ?

Thanks in advance

Yes I get full resettlement for times served, corse wise I'm not entirely sure.
For cheap course I'm looking to do 17th edition purely for myself and house renovation.
L3 health and safety workplace and prince2 I think.

There's the potential for me to up my nvq3 to a hnc however I'd have to fund and claim it back over a few years.

Thanks for advise so far

Reference JLR it would be good however I'm a settled homeowner near Portsmouth, Hampshire.
One of my reasons for leaving the army was sick of moving around, he says being posted in 4 weeks time, joy !
