Trade plate driving vacancies

As people on here are in to cars, thought I'd advertise on here.

If you can answer yes to the following questions, then this could be of use:

Do you live anywhere around Cheshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire or the West Midlands?
Please note, due to the locations of the compounds of where we move vehicles to, we have to be strict on peoples locations.

Are you smart, reliable, dependable and don't mind early starts?

Are you over 30 with no more than 6 points (No D&D's sorry)?

or over 25 with at least 3 years driving experience, no accidents and no more than 3 points?

Have off road parking for 1 car at night?

You will either be working as part of a team of 3 to 5 within the North West and/or Midlands area collecting a delivering cars to and from branches and taking in to compounds, or you could be doing long distance deliveries all over the UK. Unlike a lot of trade plate companies, we don't leave you stranded, and we do find return work for our drivers. If not, we do assist with travel costs to get you on to your next job.
We have contracts with some of the UK's leading remarketing and rental companies and auction houses, as well as many others.

Work is on a self employed basis. Average earnings is £300-£500 per week.

if this may interest you and you can start immediately, please email in the first instance to coxy914(@)me.com or pm with:
name:
age:
location:
phone number:
current driving experience/years licence held/accidents & convictions

cheers

Alistair

All driven work I'm afraid, and we have to be strict on age due to insurance restrictions.

I'm 56, live in Wednesbury, West Midlands. I have a full, clean UK licence including C1 and I have a digital tacho card. I've had previous experience of long-distance Trade Plate driving with UFD in the mid-90s. I've also had a lot of experience of UK and continental multi-drop deliveries in 7.5 tonners.

Gis a job.

that was 16 years ago in my book and long since spent as far as I'm concerned.

We all make mistakes, no need to punish people forever because of it.

So where you say over 30 and no more than 6 points{no d/d sorry}
i would be ok then?
For insurance purposes, any DD is considered spent after 10 years anyway, so yes.

Know Cannock well, only live just down the road!

can you get over to J3 M54 for 11am tomorrow?
My business address is about 1/2 mile from J3 next to RAF Cosford, so about 15 minutes drive from Cannock.

sorry to pester you on this point Alistair, but I'm concerned about not mentioning the fact in job applications might be detrimental,I live in York so I'm not after a job with your company but while your on here your advice would be very much appreciated.-----thanks Roger
As far as I am aware, any DD conviction is spent after 10 years.
It is for my companies requirements and it is for insurance as far as I know.

If you were to come to me for work and openly and honestly stated that you had a DD conviction 16 years ago, I would thank you for your honest, but I would never let it cloud my judgement on whether you could undertake the role.
Now, if you turned up in jeans, t shirt and trainers, I'd kindly show you the door as fast as you found it to get in!

Hello Alistair

Would Blackpool Lancs be within your catchment area?
Sadly far too North.

Ideally no one above the M56 as it's out of our area and then becomes un cost effective for us and the driver as cars end up with excess fuel and mileage.

Also probably worth adding is that we are not some fly-by-night 2 bit transport company and have between 40 and 50 drivers working for us as well as offering storage. valeting, detailing and fleet management and are very well respected within the industry.

90% of the drivers who initially started with me 5 years ago are still with me today. Something which is unheard of in this industry.

Can I ask if anyone is interested, then please could you drop me an email with your CV to acox(at)CEVL.co.uk
Between this post on here and through other sources, I'm getting about 50 enquiries a week for work at the moment.

Must be smart, reliable, dependable, ability to work on your own or as a team.
Previous trade plate driving experience not necessary, but will be of benefit.

Off road parking is a must as some cars you take home will have no tax and you are not allowed to keep them on the public highway.
Leaving trade plates in the vehicle does not suffice sadly!

A bit confused now (the paperwork didn't arive in the post today like I thought it would...) I have had another look on the 'net and the majority of Trade Plate job ads state 'this is self-employed'. But the company I am going for does not state self-employed in any of their ads across the UK. (Forde if I may name them) The girl on the phone yesterday was pleasant and clear in that it is not a self-employed role that I have applied for. I suppose I will have to wait and see what is in the blurb and CAREFULLY read the small print esp in the matter of expenses etc....
Most are self employed basis and very few pay an hourly rate unless you were employed direct by a main dealer or auction as your duties would include moving cars, plus other things like sweeping the floor or running a yard brush over the courtesy car!
The only Forde I know are Forde Recruitment who are not a trade plate driving company as such.
They are just a recruitment company, although they might be recruiting for A N other company??
I have had a couple of requests from them in the past for work, but have a good database now of reliable drivers and also plenty more waiting to start work.
