I started this car a few years ago after I sold my e46 m3 touring as I missed my orange ls powered car, the story is this car raced in 1992 and was damaged that is where it sat till 5 years ago in a field I bought the shell and set about repairing it and fitting more of a cage so this is how it looked

I will be using a v8 m3 manual gearbox as you can probably tell it is a z3m rear beam and arms and the diff is a 3.64 being built into a big caseing

Good luck with this. I remember both your M3 touring project and the E30 M3 V8?

The s65 engine should be great in a lighter shell such as this.
im hopeing this will be under a ton as the old car was 1125 kg with full tank of fuel, this shell is much lighter the cage is t45 and most panels are carbon fibre or fibreglass the shell has been dipped and lightened to the max only strength is the cage

I wish I could say yes but I have been back at work this week so nothing has progressed but over the next few weeks I will get my act together, a bit tied with engines as I have herd so many bad things about the m3 v8 but I really want to keep this car all bmw but do have an ls engine again if it all goes tits up, still waiting for a decision from someone who is supplying the front arms and rack so cant build front end engine and box are sitting here ready to be fitted cant wait to see it in situ, but good things come to them who wait I keep getting told

In what respect? As an E90 M3 owner for several years I can only highly recommend it. This has to be the engine of choice for the project, no?
Maybe, it's quite a difficult & expensive engine to control electronically (although there are a few plug & play systems available now) and it's very expensive to tune espc as the OP is used to LSx motors which you just pick how much power you want & sign the cheque.
thanks blair hows the car ?
ecu and loom is going to be stand alone with its own loom so wont have to sort that but as to problems
I have heard a few but most probably most ive heard are from not using the correct fuel
starters can be a pain
and a water seal between front cover and heads leaks
I hope as the engine and box I have bought has only 13000 miles on it, it has a few trouble free miles left
