Hi guys.

Need some urgent advice.

Last May I bought a 31,000 mile CSL from a BMW main dealer with a 12 month warranty. Car is mint and clearly a well looked after example.

Just took it in for an inspection 2 having covered less than 2,000 miles this year.

Dealer commented it needs the following:

Washer jet clear out
Gearbox reprogramming to adapt to my driving style - I commented on erratic changes
Perished air con belt

And the big one.....

Cracked subframe.

Dealer claims nothing is covered by BMW approved warranty.

I dispute this, particularly the subframe.

What do you guys think? Get BMW UK involved?

Thanks, Matt

The anti corrosion warranty is 12 years. It also has BMW approved warranty on it, so surely covered somewhere.

The car was bought as an approved used BMW so the same warranty as any used car from the BMW network I believe. That was 11 months and 1600 or so miles ago.

Car registered 03/03/2004 so should benefit from 12 year anti corrosion warranty.

Can't see how I am not covered.

I'm not so sure, check the wording of your warranty first, then get it to Elms Cambridge if you can as they are not just plinkered against warranty claims, they will rather than dismiss it, look at it properly and tell you what they think.
That is the dealer in question.

No real updates. Going to collect the car tomorrow and now already involving the supplying dealer and BMW UK.

If it is not corrosion I cannot see how it cannot be covered by BMW Approved Warranty. Particularly a car with 30,000 and FBMWSH supplied by the BMW network.

Like the MoT idea. Going to roll with that.

Will keep you posted, this will run and run......

When mine was done, the approval took less than a week.

You need to re read the above posts - the boot floor cracks are covered for 10 years from build date. It is a goodwill repair, not part of the anti corrosion warranty or any extended warranty.

Some dealers are also insist on full bmw service history, less than 100k miles & no modifications, while some seem less bothered.
The only consistency seems to be the 10 year limit.
Why is it not covered by approved used warranty? You read their terms and conditions and it excludes corrosion, but this is not that.
