Hi all looking to lower the car a nice height on stock shocks, and standard 17 rimms just wondering if anyone's done this and what springs did they use and what was the size of the springs?

I know changing springs and not the shocks is not best advised however it's just temporary untill I can afford some coil overs.

Anyone? Thanks in advance

Ok cheers mate, just seems like a really small drop, I had my is coupe dropped 60ml all round, obviously I don't want that super low look on this m3 but just a nice tight fit that'll look smart

Well I'd have to get the adjustable mounts etc to be able to adjust the camber. Ill cross that bridge when I come to it and have the loot to do it properly. Untill then I just need the correct set of springs.

This may sound silly and correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the m3's suspension is already lower than of a standard car, so adding lowering springs that only lower 15ml will produce the same ride height as the factory m suspension, or does that mean it will lower the car a further 15ml from the position it is now?

Sorry if that sounds silly, but I haven't modified a car for about 10 years so not really sure on measurements etc.

Ok mate thanks for explaining that to me. I'm still confused though, so a spring set advertised to lower the car 25mm front and 15 rear would be a further 25mm drop on how the car is sitting now? Or from a standard point. Ie on the m3 evo cab will 25mm drop just look OEM fitment? Because the m3 already ride a little lower than non m models.

Or have I tottaly got it wrong?

Okaaaay that clears things up. Cheers

Oh wow that's sitting lovely, just how I'd want mine is that the 25mm front and 15mm rear setting? Did you have to do any mods to arches etc or all good?

See I was going to go for apex 30mm drop all round but after seeing this cab I think that may be abit to extreme

Wicked, thanks guys that clears it all up for me finally. I think your set up looks great. I might go for that too. Least it's not to low where it looks silly and I could maybe put some 5 or 10 ml spacers on for that more aggresive look without any arch rubbing
