e46 Dakar Hunt

Im on the hunt for a facelift e46 M3 in Dakar Yellow which must be manual and no sunroof. There's a nice one appeared in the classifieds but its going to be a track toy and this one has a skylight..

What are my chances of find the perfect spec in this colour?

And what does a proper respray cost? Wraps look terrible.

Best color ever! If it will be a track toy just get a carbon fiber roof like I did on mine. Geoff Steel racing sells it for about 500 GBP, installation is pretty straight forward and not difficult. You need a guy to remove and put back on the windscreen and the rear window. You need to drill out the spot welds (the roof panel is a non-structural element) and then using windscreen silicone to bond the CF roof. I put black alcantara on mine and looks and feels really nice.

btw. the weight saving is about 35 kg

That looks pretty major to me. Drilling, cutting and grinding to remove roof? How do you protect paintwork and all interior bits?
