Hi,

I'm approaching that time where a change of car is going to happen.

E90 M3 is one option, as is the C63, as is the Panamera.

Does anyone have any info on reliability of the DCT transmission and likely life expectancy for the DCT transmission? I know it won't be cheap if it breaks, but would be good to know how long these units are likely to last before hitting problems.

Thanks guys,

Looks like I can keep the M3 on the list. Has to be an auto transmission, as my wife will drive it. She's got a manual licence, but her co-ordination of clutch and gas pedals is, errrrr, interesting! Can't quite bear the thought of the abuse that a manual car would get!

Looks like the E90 is a good option.

No point buying the wife another car though - she's already got one but always grabs mine whenever she can "because it's nicer to drive".

Think I'll be looking for a good 4 door version in the new year.
