High mile f10 m5......what's it worth?
Discussion
A friend of mine is selling his f10 m5 and has offered me first refusal on it
I really don't know where to pitch a sensible offer in light of the high miles on the car
Basic details of car
61 reg
Black/black
80k miles with fbmwsh(just had a £1500 service and rear tyres)
Multifunction seats
Soft close doors
Rear camera
Harmon kardon
The car is in mint condition and all the miles are commuting on the M1.....a total waste of an m5!
He's owned it from new and is looking to get a new m5
What's this car worth oh good folk of ph?

I think 30k is actually a good offer. You have to keep in mind, even if you done 10k miles on it, who is going to to want a potentially 5 year old m5 with 90k on the clock. I would say not many.
If it was me id be offering 26-27k. but most would probably say no to that,
Id rather pay extra and get a low millage.

£30k? I would be reluctant to offer mid 30's considering £40k probably gets you in one with a quarter of those miles.
But why the hell is your friend getting a "new" M5 only to spunk another £30k on depreciation + fuel trundling up and down a motorway??
He likes his cars and has got money so he likes to buy cars he likes.......a 535d would make perfect sense but m5 for himBut why the hell is your friend getting a "new" M5 only to spunk another £30k on depreciation + fuel trundling up and down a motorway??
I think £30k is taking the mick a bit.....the cheapest m5 on autotrader is close to £39k with 56k miles.......with a haggle it's probably £37k.........23k miles doesn't take 7k off the value I don't think.....
I was looking to offer him £32-33.......but tbh not sure if I want it as it will be hard to sell on

That's just an asking price and I don't see why anybody would pay that much when you consider there's 20k miles examples around for only 5-10% more. Although it does have a nice plate if that's included in the sale...I'd only bid what you'd feel is a good deal - sure the 80k have been on a motorway but you're going to have trouble selling it on after a couple of years and it's nearing 100k. Give it a year and low mileage examples will be near £32-33k anyway.

You're not sure. So don't.
That's a lot of miles for a young M5.
I agree even though clearly low stress motorway miles. Bet it drives like new. Still, I wouldn't touch it unless it was really cheap. £28K cheap. When it's north of 100k you won't be able to get more than 20kThat's a lot of miles for a young M5.
I think it depends on whether you fancy the car for a year or so or think you might keep it longer term.
If the latter and you are happy with it's condition and the price, then the mileage is less of an issue.
However, if you want to take the extended warranty, is the mileage going to impact the price you pay for the warranty?
I seem to recall a lot of comment about E60 M5's, paying warranty by monthly direct debit and the 60,000 mile threshold. My F10 is just approaching 3 years old (40K miles) and I will have to start looking at the extended warranty over the next few weeks as I plan to hold on to it for a couple more years.
