E60 M5 or E92 M3?

I've always loved the styling of the E92 M3 and of course people rave about the S65 engine.

However the E60 M5 has recently caught my eye - its obviously a much bigger car, so perhaps a like for like comparison would be a bit strange. But how does the S85 engine compare against the M3's V8?

Maybe its been done to death before, but with my love for the E92 I've always looked past such comparisons...
