Nasty surprise E63 M6

Was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience. Went to pull the car out of the drive and heard a nasty scraping
noise coming from driver's side front wheel. Sounded like a stone had got between pad and disc and was grinding.I decided
to pull slowly forward to get the car on the flat and have a look but as I did so my tyre exploded.Managed to jack the car
up and remove wheel and what had happened was my spring had snapped in the middle and the sharp end had gone straight through
the tyre.There was no issue when I parked the car the day before so it seemed strange for it to go just like that however it
could have been fatal at high motorway speeds as the tyre would have been shredded instantly.Wasn't easy getting it on a low loader
either. BMW quoted 14 days to get the parts which is no good to me so had to get a full set of Eibach springs which are 20mm lower
at the front and 15mm at the rear. At least they come with a "Billion mile warranty" My car is an 06 plate with 49,000 miles so if
you have similar it may be worth checking the springs for any signs of wear?
