I bought a BMW m4 last October . Since the moment I had it it's never excited me coming from a c63 coupe it had a tough task to follow . Undoubtedly I respect the m4's amazing technology ,blistering outright speed and very slick looks but a car has to grab u emotionally .

I had an e92 m3 in 2009/2910 Monte Carlo edition it was amazing .

I went to my local dealer on Saturday who had a range of pre reg m3 and m4 in a load of lairy colours , but amongst them was a limited white edition 500 e92 with 13000 miles on the clock .It looked stunning , aggressive , that Huge v8 bonnet bulge is enough to make any petrol head get excited, and let us not forget natural aspiration is a thing of the last now and all rather retro . retro is cool right ?

I sat down with the sales rep agreed a deal to swap with m4 in 5 minutes .

I pick it up Tuesday and am absolutely buzzing about it .

ive been fortunate enough to own some insane cars and I truely believe the f80 m3/m4 will go down " emotionally " as the worst m car in history

Had the car 3 days now , driven to work every day .... and gone out 3 nights running for a 1030 pm blast .

in 1 year of owning m4 i did not do that .

the engine on the e92 is glorious , i suppose if it had a bit more power in the low end it would be perfection , as it is its almost perfect .

Had the car now for 3 weeks ,

It's absolute motoring perfection . The seat position , the old school feel of dials , the paddles are perfect weight and size and do we really need to go on about what a triumph this engine is ??? The way it revs can only be compared to a Ferrari and it sounds amazing as well .

I've had some serious cars in my time including r8 , f430 , 997 2s , 997t Gen1 , 991s , and before the m4 a c63 .

Without doubt the m4 was bottom of that list

The m4 was a disaster , I really wanted it to be the best car ever but just could not love it , sterile fake engine noise and jumpy handling .

The e92 without doubt is a future classic and I urge any petrol head to to go out and buy one because u will not ever regret it for one second ..... Ok maybe the fuel economy will cheese u off .... But for circa 30 k for a car if this quality and almost certain appreciation the next 5 years for the right car ..... Who gives a monkeys !!!

Well done bmw

I should have said real world motoring perfection ....

Ie Get in car , sounds the nuts , great old school v8 , a dct gear box that as as good as any today , kids in back , go shopping and while doing all that the high reving crescendo and down change blips make you v v happy .

Of course a 458 speci is a better car .

But what bmw do with the ( some ) m cars for a fraction of price is astonishing .....

Yes the f80 is astonishingly quick and can do 30 mpg abd has head up display . I owned the car for a year , it was soulless and numb . It's sounds dreadful no matter how much you pretend or convince yourself it does not .

Bmw are aware of this and I look fwd to the next m3/m4 which I'm sure I will get safe in knowkedge bmw will totally smash it after this Cock up
