I collected my F10 M5 today, from BMW Ruxley. It was previously owned by 3LitterMan, who's on here. Singapore Grey with Black leather comfort seats. I'm loving it and the wife likes it too, fortunately. Just been driving it today in comfort mode mostly, to build a feeling for the car, before I start giving it full throttle in sport plus, but the few times I have put my foot down... wow!

Just a few questions for other owners.

1. Does the engine temp ever reach 120c, in the middle of the of the temp gauge? Mine seems to get to somewhere between the 1/4 mark and 120c, even in the 1 hour drive home from the dealership. Is this normal?

2. How do you get album artwork to appear on the screen? I'm using Amazon Music over Bluetooth and all it's showing is a Bluetooth symbol where the artwork should be.

3. Any top tips/secrets I should know about the car?

4. I can't believe how easy it is to turn the traction control off! I went to push the engine response button and hit the traction instead, and it just turned off. No holding it for 5 seconds... must be careful!

Overall I'm very happy and can't help but feel I got a bit of a bargain here. £29990, 62plate, 23k miles. Dealer said they were glad to get rid of it, as they were getting endless calls about it and admitted they under priced it by at least £6k. I could even sell it today to WeBuyAnyCar and make £300. I was a little disappointed though when I saw they hadn't refurbished the wheels, but to be fair I never requested it as part of the deal, I just assumed they would do it. Anyway, I'm sure I'll end up curbing one at some point whilst getting used to it, so will get them done after the winter.

Swapped the kidneys and did an iDrive software update today. Also started the car from cold with the door open.... wow it's loud! Neighbors are going to hate me soon!!!

That looks really good, and you got a fantastic bargain!
Who supplied your grills? Were they expensive? One of mine is cracked following a bird strike. I may swap both to black, but I'm not sure if it'd suit Siverstone 2.
Picked them up from BMW, when I collected the car. £220. I think they make it different from a standard 5 Series and they are the latest design. Really easy to fit, just yank the old ones out and stick these in, takes 30 seconds.

Thanks. Just go to BMW.com/update, put your VIN in and download the latest version to an empty USB drive. Then plug it in the cars usb and select update from iDrive settings. Not sure what's updated but graphically it looks much better and the album artwork now comes up when your streaming music. Surely the M3 is filling a gap?

With regards to the girls, best to call beforehand and ask them to order them in. They'll arrive at the dealer the next morning.

Mine is also Singapore grey. Looks great.

The kidney grills look good. May look into this.

The exhaust is loud on start up but not as loud as the e63TT so you're neighbours can be grateful that you are a bmw owner.

I've had mine sine June and its rediculously fast.

Bmw are liars on fuel economy though. Mines doing 19mpg.

Good luck!
I can easily get 30mpg on a long run but usually average 19 due to playing often!!
I'm getting 12mpgs at the moment in Putney traffic. I'm doing my first motorway drive tomorrow, so will be interested to see how it increases. I'd be happy with a 20mpg average through ownership, as that will be only 10mpg less then my 2.0 X3, but with 400bhp more! My Aston V8V only did 16mpg average over ownership, but I enjoyed every drive so it's well worth the extra few pounds per week in fuel.
