Hi guys,

I've seen this 1m for sale at Stratstone:

http://www.stratstone.com/search/vehicledetails/us...

48k miles, white, pretty good spec (?), £40,995. It's very recently been dropped in price from £41,754.

It seems fairly high mileage to me, but does it sound like a fair price?

I'm going test drive it today, will report back.

It is the white one in Leeds, yup. I actually put a small deposit down to secure it pending a test drive, which explains why it's disappeared from the website.

What do you reckon a fair price would be? The highest mileage 1m on AT is 62k miles on at £38k. Obviously, it's not sold but based on mine, that's £3k depreciation for 20k miles, which is seems good to me.

I average about 5 miles a day on my commute, 6 days a week, so that's 1.5k a year? Normally, I'd have other journies to do but I think I'd limit my time in the car, keep it a year and see what the prices are doing. I'm hoping that I'll get nearly all my money back after a year, but I'm not sure if that's realistic or not. I'm also unsure how easy these things would be to sell on the private market. A high sticker price is one thing, finding someone willing to pay it is another!

Not sure if it's the same car as I haven't seen the advert, but I was offered a VO car with same mileage for £35k a couple of weeks back, the owner already had a trade bid of £34.5K on it - could be the same car if it's now with a trader ? I would have preferred to buy private but they where few and far between with the exception of a couple of out of budget low mileage ones. The white car at Leeds has been slowly coming down in price and was on my list of possibles when I was looking. Good luck.
This is the car:

It's AW not VO.

£35k that's a cracking price, why didn't you got for it in the end?

So I took it for a spin, aside from being pretty uncomfortable driving a manual after years of sports autos, I loved it! I accepted the price, for various reasons I won't go into now, and should be collecting next week!

Thanks for thinking of me Matt. The car has been sold looking forward to the next few years in something different and not so mileage sensitive.
Hi Matt - out of interest how easy did you find the 1m to sell?
