Looking for a good value CSL, do they exist, especially if you don't have £20K

Had not thought about the part out option, good point.

The issue for me is, I sold my last E46 M3 for 8K, and looking at current prices the CSL's are priced at 2.5 times the Standard car, and unless you have deep pockets, its difficult to justify paying that much more even though I know they are cool as hell.

To put some presepctive on your £15K budget OP, there was a 100K plus CSL being offered in the trade at £18K.
That's what I was trying to ascertain, as in what could you get one for, so 18K for example is much better than 25K, when you don't have the extra 7K ;0)

Just to clarify, that was offered in the trade, as in one trader to another. The retail price of that car won't obviously be £18K.
Of course understood.

The cS would be a good option, but not found a colur cobo for sale I liked. Wanted Grey SMG with Black Trim, and keep seeing Blue and grey trimed manuals.

The issue is I really wnat a CSL, just cant afford one at the moment. Plus got to think how practical a car with Fixed Seats and the noisy stiff ride may be as a daily drive. Although going to work may be more fun ;0)

I got ride of my Z4M as it just was too stiff for everyday driving, and I love M cars, but it really was, my wife ended up hating it.

Scratch the itch.....agreed that's what worries me !

Re commuting, it's not a choice, can't afford one toy, and a separate car for commuting , so over the years if had to bite the bullet and use my "nice" car for runs too work, no other choice really, other than occasionally stealing the wifes 307.

But who wants to end up having 307 d as thier everyday drive.

Cheers

John

Understand. To be fair I have the use of the Peugeot, just want to be able to drive the car without worrying about depreciation.

Luckily at the moment my commute is 30 miles round trip, 3 times a week in nice car.

50 % country lanes, so ideal for the Csl ;-)

That was what the Z4M was like, when you were talking you could feel your voice jiggling about like you were on a springy road, my wife grew to hate it.

To conclude my investigations and close out my original post. From my discussions with people on PH, and various other registers, you do struggle to get a CSL for less than the 20K mark, unless its gone over the 100K mark, has high owners, and requires money spending on it, like needs a service, tyres and brakes.

It you pay the 25K Plus for the mile low owner, low mileage examples, it would seem you would be getting a nice car, that would seem to hold its value.

The CS cars have been fetching between11 and 15K over the last few months and good quality E46 Standard M3's are looking strong too, so all this IMO would hold the CSL values up, after all they are a limited purpose built car, which I personally adore, regardless of the madness some people think to paying the price tags that they command.
