Mobile Mechanic - Mk1 MX5 Turbo
Discussion
I was wondering if anyone knew of a good mobile mechanic to do a compression test that happened to know about mx5 turbos?
I have recently bought a mk1 mx-5 running a Greddy Turbo. I drove it down from London to Exeter and on the way down the temperature gauge started climbing, stopped let the engine cool and then went on my way again. When I got to Exeter and turned the car off I could hear thumping come from the block, the noise didn't start straight away, but after a couple of minutes whilst unloading it.
Anyway tested the water pump and the thermostat and they seem to be working. I now want to check the head gasket hasn't gone, hence the need for a mobile mechanic to do a compression test.
It is still using the standard radiator, but before I start fitting alloy radiators etc. I want to check everything is running as it should and there isn't a fundamental problem.
