Water coming through above window

Hi,

I got into my car today a veritable lake on the floor I'm a leisure driver so the cars been unused for nearly 2 weeks - plenty of time to build up.
I've just cleared the drains today which might make a difference but I think water is also getting in through the gaps in the window seals.
I know that when its been wet, when I start driving, water comes through the tiny gaps in the seals above the windows particularly at the front end. Sorry I dont know the names of these things to describe them.
I spoke to a hood repairer today and he said that my hood might need replacing if its shrunk. This seems like quite a severe fix.
Anyone else had this problem and found a fix?
